How the dates are made
Sources and Checks
Every date on this site is computed in code from a published rule: the holiday law in 5 U.S.C. 6103, the Federal Reserve's closing rule, OPM's pay period grid, DFAS's and SSA's payment rules. Unit tests pin the results against the calendars the agencies publish, date by date.
Every Monday a check reads the official pages below. When one changes, or when an official date disagrees with the computed one, it is flagged for review and shown on the affected pages as Unverified until a person looks at it.
