Social Security Payment Schedule 2026
Social Security retirement, survivors and disability benefits are paid on a Wednesday chosen by your birthday, or on the 3rd. SSI is paid on the 1st. When the date is a weekend or federal holiday, the payment comes the business day before. In 2026 that puts two SSI payments in July, October and December.

When are Social Security payments in 2026?
On the second, third or fourth Wednesday of each month, depending on your birthday: the 1st to the 10th is the second Wednesday, the 11th to the 20th the third, and the 21st to the 31st the fourth. People who started benefits before May 1997, or who also get SSI, are paid on the 3rd.
Are there two SSI payments in any month of 2026?
Yes: July, October and December. When the 1st of a month is a weekend or holiday, SSI is paid the business day before, which can be in the previous month. That leaves no SSI payment dated in March, August and November. It is not an extra payment, only an early one.
